Road Safety Around Primary Schools

You Said:
You have raised concerns relating to road safety around our local primary schools. These concerns include excessive speed, inappropriate road use and dangerous parking during school drop-off and collection times.

We Have:
We have carried out high-visibility patrols at primary schools across the beat area. We have engaged with drivers and provided education regarding safe and considerate road use. Where offences have been identified, appropriate enforcement action has been taken.

We have continued to work closely with schools, local authority enforcement teams and partner agencies to help ensure our school communities remain safe for pupils, parents, staff and all road users.

Retail Crime - Belvoir Shopping Centre & Whitwick Retail Park

You Said:
Local businesses continue to report theft offences, including repeat offenders targeting retail premises. With the festive period approaching, concerns remain high among retailers.

We Have:
We have conducted targeted operations in these areas, working alongside CCTV operators, Safer Streets colleagues and partner agencies to identify and tackle those responsible for retail crime. Through this work, numerous offenders have been identified and arrested.

We have continued to pursue positive outcomes through convictions, Criminal Behaviour Orders (CBOs) and other long-term measures to disrupt offending and protect local businesses.

Licensing and Associated Criminality

You Said:
Concerns have been raised regarding licensed premises and retail outlets within the area. Issues reported include underage sales, the sale of illegal products and criminality associated with licensed premises.

We Have:
We have been working alongside Licensing Officers and Trading Standards to conduct visits to premises where concerns have been identified.

Together with our partners, we remain committed to tackling the issues that matter most to local residents and ensuring Coalville remains a safe place to live, work and visit.
